Weekly digest 44
Sunday, November 2, 2025If you're here for links, I didn't really collect any this week, sorry.
Happenings
- Despite illness in the family, half-term was pretty great. We've all had colds; my littlest also had conjunctivitis, and my wife got vertigo (her ears seem to be particularly vulnerable to viral infections).
- The first week of half-term I spent mostly looking after Mr Three. We baked bread, did some gardening, and some walking.
- In the second week, we took the little ones to a petting farm, and also on the local steam railway. The railway was a great day out for Mr Three.
- I relaxed with a bit of drawing (I'm not good at it), and also tried some pixel art for the first time. Pixel art is fun because it is suitable for the small screen and trackball of the Pocket Reform (though I had to build the pixel art software Aseprite from source for the ARM64 architecture of the Reform, which required an absurd 10GB of build dependencies).
Reading
Finished The Mechanic and the Luddite by Jathan Sadowski.
Watching
Still enjoying Celebrity Traitors.
Playing
Finished Silksong. It's brilliant, but I'm not as overwhelmingly in love with it as the original Hollow Knight, perhaps simply because I was expecting Silksong to be awesome, while the original took me so much by surprise.
Now I'm playing Terranigma, a hidden gem of the SNES era that was never released in North America, and didn't get much traction over here simply because the SNES didn't.
