The Blaugust bloggers I already follow
Wednesday, August 5, 2026This is the first community builder post I’ll be doing this Blaugust. There are around 140 blogs participating in Blaugust this year. Here are the ones I already follow. How do I follow blogs? I use a feed reader. There are many free and paid options available. I currently use NewsBlur, which is great, though I am considering migrating to something cheaper and more basic. All these blogs have a feed — just paste the blog URL into a feed reader and you’ll get all their posts in one handy feed.[1]
Here are the blogs!
- 82MHz: He posts about retro tech and also does regular “Link Dump” posts that always contain a lot of interesting links. A veteran blogger, but a Blaugust newbie.
- Alex’s Review Corner: Mostly reviews of TV shows, movies and games, as well as the occasional essay.
- brennan.day: An extremely prolific — and more importantly, good — writer who straddles the boundary between personal blogger and essayist. An inspiration to anyone who wants their indie blog to be about more than what they had for breakfast.
- Divergent Rays: A classic personal blog, with a lot of material relating to tiaras. Consistently posts around twice a week.
- Zachary Kai: A fun personal site about a variety of topics.
- joelchrono: Prolific personal blogger who posts about games, tech, books, and his everyday life in Mexico.
- fyr.io: A sysadmin in the UK education sector. Blogs about tech, security, the Indie Web (or however you call it these days), and everyday life. Lots of fun “slashpages” too. A veteran blogger, but a Blaugust newbie.
- Juhis: A tech community guy. Posts about community projects in the open source space, interesting tech tips, life reflections, apps he’s found, and so on.
- Indiecator: Fun indie game reviews, and he’s such a nice guy.
- What the fran: Personal site about a wide range of topics, including literature, history, art, games… all sorts!
